Shrug. There are those who live good lives. I don’t care what they believe. I do know what I believe and if I can help them live good lives, so much the better.

There are those who do not live good lives. I don’t care what they believe. I do know what I believe and if I can stop them from hurting others, so much the better.

It’s better than, “When Drywall Gets Wet 2: Electric Boogaloo.”

Because believe me, electricity and water do NOT mix.

In my experience with flooded basements (4 Times) I’ve noticed the water will seep up just about 30 inches from the floor in the drywall. I wonder if it has anything to do with the current barometric pressure.

Repair secret: Place the new drywall about 3/4 to 1 inch above the floor. Cover the gap with trim. Hopefully, if there’s a next time, you won’t have more than 1/2 inch of water on the floor so the drywall stays dry.

I’d like to imagine I could talk to him in some way to make him see the error of his ways.

But I’m not a priest or a rabbi.

I’d stand up and say as loudly as I could to the flight crew if I could be moved to another seat so that I didn’t have to sit next to this anti-American M-F’er that pisses on my years as a soldier with every fucking breath he takes.

I suppose. It just comes from decades of the GOP pissing on our backs and telling us it’s raining. I didn’t hand Uncle Sam a blank check to be made out in in any amount up to my life (it only got written for shit knees, a bad back and Tinnitus - a small price) to give these shitbirds a free ride. There’s going to come a moment when all of them need to understand they’re trying to ride a hungry tiger and he can smell they’re made of meat.

Been a rough week in the Cyborg household.

My wife got sick with a virus, then I caught it. This morning, while still fighting the virus, I pulled a back muscle putting a wheelchair in the trunk of the car.

The wheelchair was necessary because my MIL, who lives with us, has a cast on her foot because of some swelling condition and is largely immobile without it (she has balance issues so crutches are difficult).

I took today off work to rest and did manage to rest quite a bit. Hopefully I feel better tomorrow.

One of my coworkers told me at 1:45 PT that our CEO had resigned with immediate effect. My first thing was to check Twitter, and sure enough, he had resigned. It took 15 more minutes for an internal official statement to come out.

Wells Fargo & Co. Chief Executive Officer Tim Sloan gave in to critics and abruptly stepped down Thursday, after the 31-year company veteran struggled to tame a range of scandals, launching the fourth-largest U.S. bank into a hasty search for a successor.

Sloan, 58, will be replaced on an interim basis by the firm’s general counsel, C. Allen Parker. The board said it plans to look externally for a permanent replacement. The stock climbed in extended trading.

Ever since Sloan took the helm in 2016, he’s faced calls for his ouster from critics including Senator Elizabeth Warren, a Democrat running for president. They said a longtime insider couldn’t be counted on to clean up scandals emerging from the lender’s vast branch network and other divisions. Just last week, the board reiterated its support for Sloan. And hours before Thursday’s news, top shareholder Warren Buffett said he backs him “100 percent.”

“They clearly have to regain their credibility,” said John Reed, who ran Citigroup Inc. until 2000. “You have to somehow behave in a way that causes the world to say, ‘OK, the past is behind them and they’re moving forward.’ And that’s a leadership issue. The fact that you would turn to a lawyer for something like that is not strange.”

If you don’t think this makes me feel weird and uneasy…well yeah, I feel weird and uneasy. Our tech executive is also out as of the 31st; he didn’t get a position that was created above him, which turned him into a 3-down from Sloan, so decided to bail three weeks ago. We had a whole “did he jump or was he pushed” thing for the last few weeks, and the same thing has started up for Sloan as well.

“Wetwall” (lath and plaster) is just as bad when it gets wet—but it’s much more difficult (and expensive) to replace.

re: #39 Amory Blaine

for all we know, perhaps Mueller has the goods on the GOP itself and the report could lead to the indictment of many of those supporting the President. Could you actually picture a scenario where he can show illegal campaign activity leading to charges?

Hell, with the conduit of dark money, the coordination from Cambridge Analytica and the NRA (not to mention the evangelical PACS and all of those set up by these dubious LLCs), if there are threads to be pulled that end up in indictments of Senators and Congresscritters, makes you wonder if the continued solidarity of the GOP could be assaulted.

The conventional observation is that many of the goofs are guilty as fuck, because when you hear them speak about damn near any issue they’re dumber than stumps, so unless they have truly savvy and honest staffs to keep their hands clean (yeah, right) many of these guys could be in serious trouble when names start getting dropped and threads are pulled… i.e. if you think Devin Nunes is the only GOP Congressman, then perhaps you shouldn’t be speculating in flood plain real estate.

At this point, I don’t discount any possibility from Trump vindication (yeah, how many indictments and convictions have we seen already?) to watching the shit hit the proverbial fan.
